Sheila Fleet is inspired by Orkney's stunning natural beauty. Her designs reflect nature's wonderful sea, sky and landscape colours. Orkney's rich history and heritage are also a big part of her inspiration. The island's identity gives her jewellery an incredible personality and her designs are fashionable, yet timeless and suitable for all ages.
After 26 years experience in jewellery design, Sheila Fleet launched her own original brand in 1993. With the help of her husband and son, Sheila Fleet built a successful business and all Sheila Fleet Jewellery is designed, made, finished and packaged at her workshop in Orkney, Scotland. Each piece bears the makers mark SD (Sheila Dearness being her maiden name) and a hallmark from the Edinburgh Assay Office, demonstrating that it has been independently quality tested for fineness.
Colour is a very important aspect of Sheila Fleets designs, and her enamel colours make the pieces so distinctive. Sheila Fleets workshop follows the tradition of Egyptians, Romans and Celts by using a vast palate of enamel colours made from finely ground granules of glass. The granules are carefully applied by hand to the metal with a quill.
The unique designs and the beautiful enamel colours make the Jewellery very special. They are the perfect gift for a loved one or a very special treat for yourself.
